We don't pay them up front... and if we know we're getting it back, than it's not an issue. But we aren't even sure if they are getting the money back so this is all hypothetical.

o yea we know were not getting the money back bc theyre signing matsuzake. but i was just sying i thought if they wernt gonna sign him why even bid just go for money

But we don't need the money right now, because we don't pay them right now... we pay them during the season, so within 30 days it wouldn't matter. But we'll say what happens with Sookie (Bill Simmons' given nickname to him because he doesn't feel like hearing old people not know how to pronounce his name).

Astros signed Woody Williams, too. Looks like there stepping it up this year. Either that or just planning ahead for the loss of Roger Clemens.
My uncle told me today that on WEEI they were saying that the Red Sox wanted Clemens to come to Boston and pitch as a closer. I don't really like that idea, I'd much rather have Papelbon closing and Clemens starting than vice versa. It just doesn't really make sense to me why they'd switch that up.

And also, Clemens' agent said there's no chance he'll close for us next year. So that was just extremely wishful thinking and rumors.
