i have a question. what did jeter do to deserve voting? i didnt think he had a mvp caliber season but let me check the stats real quick...
ok he had a great year at the plate. 118 runs, 343 avg, 34 sb, almost 100 rbi, and 14 homers. 39 doubles to boot. i didnt know how well he did or didnt, but i still think papi should have won it.

idk if i agree that that should happen
how could u be more valuable than he was this year? just because u play in the field doesnt make u THAT much more valuable in my opinion.

Yup. Exactly. Morneau's stats were around Papi's BUTTTT Morneau plays in the field and Papi doesn't. Simple as that. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna compare their stats right now.
D. Ortiz- .287 avg, 54 HRs, 137 RBIs, 355 TBs, 29 2Bs J. Morneau- .321 avg, 34 HRs, 130 RBIS, 331 TBs, 37 2Bs
Morneau has a big edge in average and Papi has a big edge in homers so you can basically cancel those out. The RBI's and Total Base's are basically the same, a slight edge to Papi, and Morneau has more double's. With pretty close stats like that, you hafta give it to the one that plays in the field.

HOWEVER
did justin have as many clutch game winning hits as papi? i dont think so and im not gonna check. u have to look at that too in my opinion

ik ive said this but i really believe his value was the bests. do you remember all the walk off hits he had? he carried us the whole year, and he gave us a reason to watch even at the end.

I agree somewhat that Papi had the best value, but you can't take away that Justin Morneau played good defense and led his team to the playoffs.
