Today Hanley Ramirez won the Rookie of the Year Award. He narrowly beat out Ryan Zimmerman, and in third was Dan Uggla.
Here's how the voting went down for these three:
Player 1st place 2nd place 3rd place points Hanley 14 11 2 105 Zimmerman 10 16 3 101 Uggla 6 3 16 55
the next player was Josh Johnson, with 11 points.
I'm pumped, and I think Hanley deserved it, as I was monitoring him all year on my fantasy team. He set Marlins rookie records for hits, doubles, triples, and runs, and tied the record for batting average. 7 of his 17 homers were leadoff, tying Nomar's rookie record in 1997. He became only the 5th player ever to log 45 doubles and 50 stolen bases, joining elite names Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Lou Brock, and Craig Biggio. His 119 runs were second in team history.

3 of the top 4 vote-getters all on the Marlins. That's crazy. Maybe if they weren't in arguably the hardest division in baseball, with no gimmes, they could have even made the playoffs with EASILY the youngest team in the league.
