are the celts a dissapointment or did we just over rate them at the beggining of the year. They have a lot of youth so maybe we shopuld have expected this lack to get out to an early start to the season

Well I don't know what you mean by "we," but I didn't expect the Celts to do that much this year. Yes, 1-6 is a disappointment, but if we were any better than 3-4 right now I'd be very surprised.

you didnt think the celts would be good they have a lot of good talent in a very weak division with he best team at .500 i just expected a lot better out of telfair and perkins. But i think last night finding out the leon powe can play until big al is back, thats a step in the right direction.
also a lot of the previous dominat teams are off to such slow starts Dallas 2-4 Phoenix 2-5 Miami and Washington 3-3 Detroit 3-4. Right now Atlanta and Orlando go 1,2 in the Southeast Dvision ( Atlanta, Orlando, Washington, Miami, Charlotte)

Well, I thought they would improve, but that's not hard to do over last year. But no, I didn't think they'd be a playoff team. Also, I think Telfair and Perkins are doing fine.
Has anyone noticed that Paul Pierce hasn't been as dominant this year, also turning the ball over alot.

I think pierce is having his best year of the past few. It seems everytime I watch it hes either grabs a rebound or turns the ball over but hsi T.O.'s are only up 1 a game since last year. Hes down 1 point and assist from last year but the big thing is like he said he would do is average 10 boards a game and he is averaging 4 more than last year. I know its 6 games in but except for last night he has gotten 11 just about everygame and then that one game with 19
did anyone else notice early 4th late 3rd of last nights game he had 6 points and in 3 minutes he got up to 16. He shooting much better from beyond the arch it seems and he gets to the line the most in the NBA with 10 times a game

I know he's rebounding well, and maybe scoring well, but it doesn't seem like he's dominating at the end of games like he did last year. Maybe the Celts are stressing a team concept, but he flat out took over the game under 5 minutes left much more than this year.

i thought they were gonna suck before the year. i disagreed when ppl were excited for the year before the first game. now idk as much about the nba and the celts as most of you here, but i dont think they will be good until they either get REAL point guard and a decent big man.
also, it seems to me that they have been rebuilding with youth for at least 3 years now. there younger players have got to start getting better and not just learning, but doing. it seems to me that other teams get their younger players better faster.

Nick, we have three REAL point guards so I don't know what your referring to with that. What we need is a solid center. Every championship team has a dominant center. Shaq on Miami, Dirk on the Mavs, Duncan on the Spurs, Wallace on the Pistons. All the teams that make it through the playoffs always have a dominant center. If we get Greg Oden in the draft next year, I feel like we'd be up there with those teams.
I think it's too early to say there a disappointment because they could easily turn it around, but if they stay like this, oh yeah, it's a huge dissappointment. We have a lot of talent this year, even though they're young, we still have great talent. I feel like we're not doing great this year because Doc isn't making the right subs at the right times. We need to get players to gel together instead of Doc just putting in anybody at anytime. When Gerald Green, Rajon Rondo, and Leon Powe hardly get a chance to play, you know he's doing something wrong.
Also, we always start SO slow. It seems like every game the team starts around 1-11 shooting from the field. If we get off to quicker starts, we won't always be coming back all game. Yeah, that means you too, Wally.
Another problem is free throws. We've always been a good team from their but lately we can't get it to go, especially Pierce. Speaking of Pierce, heeeee needs to do something before the 4th quarter. He's playing very good this season, but he needs to get some consistent scoring going through the whole game. His rebounding has been AMAZING, though. He's getting every single missed shot, him and Perk.
If we get those together, this season won't be such a dissappointment I hope.

do you think the ball has a bigreason to do with the drop in FT% from past years?
the balls been out for a few months so i think they should be used to it by now practicing everyday.

I doubt the ball shows any problem at all. Theres a bigger difference between like... an indoor ball and an outdoor ball, or a ball thats been used a lot, and a new ball. You can't complain about those in real life, so why should the NBA complain about this. It's like getting the traditional "Spalding" and using it outside for a while then buying "The Rock" and only using it inside. No big drop in FT% percentage should come of that.
Unless they were warming up with a girl's ball before this.
